4,570,000.000- Planet Earth is formed. The origin of the Earth is the same as the origin of the Solar System: it was initially a large cloud of gases (helium and hydrogen) and stellar dust from the Big Bang, as well as heavier elements from supernovae. The celestial body that one day would be our Earth arose from the union of rocks and small planetoids gravitationally attracted.
ERA ARCHAEAN - The first 570 million years
Since this is the least known stage of history, its study was not divided into periods.
4,565,000.000- The shock of the rock particles and their high radioactivity causes more heat; the planet is transformed into an immense incandescent ball of lava. Fragments of iron and other molten metals are concentrated in its center, forming the nucleus. Lighter rocks and minerals float above the core, in an intermediate layer called a mantle, partially pasty in consistency. In this period the mantle lacks metals
4,550,000.000-The planet began to lose heat to space, and its surface slowly cooled, forming Earth's first crust and lithosphere. The first volcanoes are formed to expel the gases and water vapor that accumulated under the crust, and the primitive atmosphere originated. The magma solidifies, forming igneous rocks such as basalt and granite.
4,540,000.000- Intense volcanism continues to add water vapor and carbon dioxide to the primitive atmosphere...
