The origin of the idea: why speak about the ego?
To speak about the ego is to speak about the human condition itself. From the moment a person recognizes himself as “someone,” his invisible prison is also born — the constructed identity, the reflection that makes him forget his essence. The ego is the mask we believe to be our face. It is the silent empire built within us, where the throne is the idealized “self,” and the walls are made of comparison, fear, and the desire for power.
The idea for this book arose from the observation of this hidden empire that governs the mind and actions of modern man. In an age in which everything is image, the ego has become king. Yet the more it rules, the farther we drift from our inner nature — simple, free, and luminous.
