Given the vast temporal (over 3,500 years) and spatial (global) scope of my studies, I do not adhere to any specific past or present military doctrines; instead, I aim to present these historical war simulations using concepts that are accessible to everyone, regardless of their professional background - reflecting my belief that the military neither holds nor should hold a monopoly on the subject of war. Thus, as the fruit of a study of military history begun in 1979, I present to the reader a consolidation of my Principles of War, my Operational Systems, and my Fundamentals for Leadership. I consider these to encompass all the strategic and tactical knowledge and resources - both human and material - necessary for planning and executing any military operations on land, at sea, in the air, and in outer space. These concepts of mine will be illustrated through synopses - published in my Catalogs (see References) - of the books in which the simulations best exemplify them. In these historical simulations, I do not base my hypotheses on the morality of any particular ideological faction. I am a republican and a democrat. I oppose extremism and prejudice of any kind. My aim is, rather, to examine the political, strategic, military-strategic, operational-strategic, and/or tactical variables associated with the history being studied, analyzed, and simulated.
